PLACES AND EVENTS OF NOTE
First and foremost, we encourage you to visit the festival, to really look around and enjoy the event as any other attendee would. We ask you to really take a look around, and view the event and all it has to offer. This notecard can only show you so much, and there is a whole lot to see here.
BURN2 features several builds that borrow from the first life Burning Man festival held in Black Rock city. You will find several areas that seek to share their appearance with the first life event space. These include the following:
- Gerlach
At the very beginning of Burn2 is the small Nevada town of Gerlach. Our recreation features many iconic spaces found in Gerlach-Empire, Nevada. Burning Man is held near to this community, and many Burners are involved with this city.

- Gate Road
The entrance of Burning Man, with its "Burma-Shave" signs, "Greeter Wedges," and other features is recreated on our virtual playa by Marianne McCann and Pygar Bu.

- Ranger HQ
Home of the Rangers. The BURN2 Rangers are traditional guardians of the shared values of the Burner community and are empowered by the community to address concerns, mediate disputes, and resolve conflicts. Their camp is a recreation of the actual Ranger's Camp at this years Burning Man event.

- The Man
The Man team this year has recreated the First Life Burning Man Base from this year's event. This has been a collaborative build, including support from the First Life Man team. The Pistil (interior sculpture) is mesh and you will require a mesh compatible viewer to see it. BURN2 is the only regional event allowed to burn the Man.

Several other builds go well beyond the bounds of the playa, or take our aesthetic and theme (this years is FERTILITY) in wholly new ways.
- The Temple
A feature of the First Life event, our temple shares the aesthetic and features of the Black Rock Desert, but becomes a uniquely BURN2 temple.

Every year we invite several artists we feel will provide incredible works to the Burn2 community. This year, we are proud to announce five very special artists we've invited to show their work on the virtual Playa at this year's Burn2 event! Our 2012 invitees are:
Silene Christen
in her native Spain, Silene has worked in oil and acrylic. Her works are in museums in Murcia (Spain) and private collections. She discovered digital art, which has lately become her focus. Silene Carnell has been part of several Second Life galleries. She had a period of promoting the artistic and digital design theme through classes and as curator of Fratte gallery and Life Art Space. She founded Life Art group to exchange information about art, headquartered in Fratte Space and Life Art Gallery. She also founded Arte Intervencionista group. As part of Arte Intervencionista she has participated in several protects, including one for Open this End to commemorate an SL Celebration.

Pallina60 Loon
Pallina is an Italian female avatar born on the 15th of June in 2007. After having learned this 3D platform, she decided to dedicate herself to building, as she was fascinated by putting into reality her fantasies, even if only as pixels. She has more than a quarter of the LOL sim, which she called "Circo Loon". On this land there are various editions of the circus, each one with its own particular theme, such as the "Original edition", the "Steampunk edition", the "Sweet edition", the "Fantasy edition", and many other ones. At the moment there is the "Origami (paper-folding) edition". Besides building in her land, Pallina60 in also interested in international events in Second Life, such as BURN2 and SLB (Second Life Birthday), which allows her to come in contact with people from all over the world, to learn a bit of English and to widen her technical knowledge.

Så här beskriver Pallina det med egna ord: "Sometimes Mother Nature played with the destiny of human beings, so it can happen that you are in this world by chance, without which, those who have gone conceived, they had planned of creating a new life. this is how I have come to the world and I thank my parents for not having thrown me but not all those who were conceived accidentally have had the same fate, and therefore have never been born.
What I realized is that no matter how you got here, the important thing is to be there and enjoy that.
This installation, entitled "Woops ..... a baby", portrays a mother nature that emerges from the arid playa to the Burn2 and play (for this reason has a red nose of a clown) with the creation of life.
You make a dive into the past to when you were not yet born, and from within the womb of your mother, you could hear her sing a lullaby for you (or at least I like to imagine that he did so).
But above all, enjoy yourself :-))"

Fuchsia Nightfire
Fuschia Nightfire (known in real life as Nina Camplin) is a mural artist specializing in trompe l'oeil. She is interested in challenging the viewer's perception of space and creating illusions of faked realities. Living in Dorset on the South Coast of the UK, many of her real-life paintings feature the sea and the nearby heathland. Fuschia is using second life as an alternative medium for creating art and exploring ways of making illusions of false realities in a virtual world.

Nexuno Thespian
Nexuno Thespian, from Italy, has a passion for art, and is a painter by hobby. Curious about everything, and that's creative in Second Life, a world where everything 'and this can' what makes him stay, driving his virtual life. He is a photographer for fun, and likes to explore and create memories in this world of pixels. He is especially curious about the duality of this world.

Ub Yifu
Using Second Life since may 2007, Mexican artist Ub Yifu came here because he wanted to create 3D objects. He started building in sandbox. I first started reproducing some famous paintings in prims from (Matisse, Magritte, Picasso, Dali, Degas). Now I rent my own island here. Since September 200, his work has primarily be on commissions, and feature reproductions of some real-life statues as a unique piece in Second Life

We hope you will explore the works of these five brilliant artists, as well as all the other theme camps and art parcels throughout BURN2. There are over 100 artists and builders presenting the event this year.
However, BURN2 is not a static event. Much of the joy of both first and Second Life events is that everyone is a participant in the art.
Barba Kurka and Neeks Karu am co-leading BURN2 Performance, which includes Center Camp and a 2nd stage that is modeled after a RL burning man DJ stage. Another stage in Burning Man- Guru, is designed by popular 8-bit artist MIkati Slade.
We will be offering entertainment from over 40 Live acts and 50 DJs from across SL. We even have a literary camp for spoken word events!
