Avslut på en intressant kväll

Höjpunkten på kvällens höjpunkt var ändå Evaluna Sperbers show.

Apmel tog av sig rymdhjälmen och satte på sig glasögon för att inte missa nåt.

Microdots Gallery var ljusår från "rymdstationen" ovanför NewcastleGateshead.

Stället lockade och det var frestande att hänga kvar men Apmel rusade vidare efter sin uppgjorda plan.

Apmel och Kafka blev vänner och han berättade att en kinesiska från Bejing gjort hans skin. Det började med att han ville skapa en karaktär från filmen Blood the Last Vampire - en japansk schoolgirl vampyr demon slayer.

BOO EBERHARDT
Boo Eberhardt is a ray of sunshine - starting fires and causing cancer.

But don't worry, the charges were dropped and the doctors cleared her to be integrated back into polite society. Otherwise, she is 26 year old Graphic Designer and Artist from Chicago.

She drinks a lot of coffee, obsesses over pixels, and speaks fluent snarky and cussing. Her work mainly consists of digital messes integrated with typography and SL pin-up photography.

GRAVES STOANES
Chicago artist Graves Stoanes has spent the past several years working on projects ranging from painted comic stories to Halloween costumes and movie concepts. His illustrations have appeared in gaming books from publishers such as White Wolf, Atlas Games, Steve Jackson Games and Fanpro.

Though still working in illustration and taking commissions, Graves has recently begun focusing on his own work both in illustration and sequential forms. His eerie combination of traditional and digital mediums has been well recieved thus far and has already lead to several gallery shows in world.

I started in photography about more or less ten years ago, then wanted to portray the everyday life and show it the way I saw it, sometimes very beautiful, others less so, but always from my point of view. I consider myself an honest person and am I trying to convey in my photography, trying also to be a good reflection of my subjective objectivity. These little more than ten years I have followed this line, I am committed to social photography and also try to show my world, sometimes abstract, through a portrait in others.

I studied video in Madrid and photography in Majorca, where I was born and currently reside.

I've done several group exhibitions and two individuals around my Island. One of my
photographs pertains to the collection Visible, Visible Festival in Madrid. I published on www.fonart.com and "Dones que fotografíen dones | Women photographing women" from the Institut Balear de la Dona de les Illes Balears.

Come take a walk through a large aquarium where you will discover ACQUARELLA , and in the gardens for aquatic meditation. Then descend to discover her digital drawings for ACQUARELLA as a form of mural art, and for the 1st time, a miniature ACQUARELLA .

Show title: THE LARGE & the small OF IT: Alizarin @ Pirats February 2010

Upstairs features a big aquarium containing ACQUARELLA full-scale, as well as aquatic meditation gardens, giant seaweeds anchored to rocks, and floating lily pads with neon tetra schools.

An aquarium on a cosmic scale, ACQUARELLA is filled with swaying, lacey aquatic plants, schools of neon tetras, animated angelfish and goldfish, drifts of diatoms, and huge green lily pads that bob up and down in the invisible current. Pose balls invite people to swim to the songs of whales, and throughout there are traces of an untold story. Who is hunting whom with those ghostly sonar pings?

Downstairs the high-resolution digital drawings that make up ACQUARELLA are displayed as large wall art. They are done just like traditional drawings except that Alizarin uses digital tools, including a software program called Corel Painter 11 and a pressure-sensitive digitizing tablet and stylus. As she draws, the tablet and stylus electronically translate the motions of her hand into strokes that look as though they were made with the drawing tool she has selected (charcoal pencil or pastel, for example). She sees these strokes occurring real-time on her monitor. Jpgs of the very large drawings are imported at 1024x1024 into SL.

And all new in SL! - ACQUARELLA MINIATURE! premiering at Pirats. It is a table-top version of the large ACQUARELLA. Lots of revisions and a charming new scale.
